we are the champions

ever so seldom.

you experience such an event. that spurs the patriot in you. patriotism to the school. a scholar officer gentleman. although i know i don't fulfil any of the mentioned, but glad to say, i'm still an ACSian.

the closest battle ever. the match that decided it all. your heart never pounded so hard until now. just when you thought the battle was over, runners up was certainly a consolation. we score. the adrenaline pumped full again.

back to the game. stuck. tied at seven. the first half seemed so quick. strategies strategies strategies.

cheering your hearts out. for the school. screaming. then the penalty, 10-7 to us! joy. exhiliration. euphoria. gay.

but the good soon came to an end as the saints scored a try. 10-12. desperation settled in as the clock ticked ever so quickly. ten minutes left on the buzzer, doom.

squeezing, tackling, throwing, wrestling in the dirt mud. trying so hard to find the loophole to the saint's defence. none at all. all hope is lost. so what we thought, as every ACSian drooped to a slouch. the game was going to a humiliating end. our cheers didn't work, the flag, the screams.

frowns. til the moment the penalty was taken. it seemed impossible. the penalty was SO far away from its target. anticipation. the held back screams. the closed eyes. kick.

score! 13-12. the flag flew higher. ACS forever. the words never felt so significant til now. the impossible became the possible. prayers do come true. the power of God, present in the stadium. you do listen.

pumped in another three points a few minutes to stoppage. 16-12. screams. jumps. leaps. we flooded the field. we did it. the impossible possible.

you never loved ACS more until now. so dramatic. everything was at stake.
